Heat and smoke force an occupant of an appartment to the balcony. He pulls off an amazing spiderman-like move to get out of harms way just in time to have the firefighter swoop down and grab him.
A man accidentally falls through a vertical shaft at a construction site. He is lifted carefully by Long Beach Firefighters. Unfortunately, he has sustained severe internal injuries in the fall and succumbs to his injuries later at the hospital.
Long Beach CA Firefighters extricate an electrician after the worker comes in contact with low voltage, high-amp power lines while working in an attic at a downtown motel. The entire rescue took about 45 minutes. This is a sampling of the entire incident, which was captured on tape from above and below.

Confined space rescue is not for the faint hearted. It’s dark, cramped, and often has dangerous gases. People like these risk their lives to save others.
This was the final exam scenario for the 2009 Texas A&M Fire School Confined Space Class. This scenario took just over two hours and 23 students to complete.
